Policies and Expectations of Young Achiever´s Service Club 2019- 2020 School Year
- This club is a service club that focuses on building leadership qualities among high achieving students.
- Students will be invited to apply for the Young Achieveŕs Service Club if they have maintained a GPA at or above 3.75 for each of the previous 3 Trimesters. (Trimester 1, 2, and 3 of 5th grade)
- GPA is a consideration in this club because our main service is peer homework help.
- Only a portion of students invited to Young Achiever ́s Service Club will be selected.

- Students will complete the WBO Young Achievers Service Club Application and teacher recommendations.
- Students scores will be taken into consideration in choosing the final members

Attend monthly meetings:
Students will be required to attend a monthly meeting. The meeting dates are Wednesday 10/30, Tuesday 11/19, Tuesday 12/17, Wednesday 1/29, Wednesday 2/26, Monday 3/16, and Wednesday 4/22.
Due to the limited number of meetings, students are only allowed 2 excused absences. Students are excused when they are absent from school, or have an appointment AND they e-mail club sponsors or notify them of absence ahead of time.
- On the 3rd excused absence student will be placed on probation for the remainder of the school year
- If a 4th meeting is missed that student will be removed from Young Achievers Service Club. (Barring any extenuating health circumstances.)
- A no "call" (or e-mail/ talk to sponsors) no show absence.
- One unexcused absence will result in probation for the remainder of the school year.
- A 2nd unexcused will result in removal from the club.
Service Requirements
- Students will be required to complete AT LEAST 2 hours of service for each month that the club meets (November to April= minimum of 12 hours for the year).
- Hours can be completed at school and in the community
- Community hours can not be done with immediate family and you cannot be paid for the service.
- If a student commits to a service activity at school, he/she is EXPECTED TO BE PRESENT AT THAT ACTIVITY.
- Attendance expectations are the same as listed above in the monthly meetings section.
- If there is a legitimate extenuating circumstance, it is the responsibility of that student to find another club member to take their place and to notify one of the sponsors of the change via e-mail or a message from the club website.
- If a student fails to show up to a scheduled service without contacting one of the sponsors and/or finding coverage the first time will result in probation. Any additional unexcused absences, and he/she will be removed from Young Achievers Service Club
- All student members will maintain a 3.75 or higher GPA at all times while in the organization.
- If a student has a GPA below 3.75, that student will be placed on academic probation for one trimester.
- If that student does not return to a 3.75 GPA or higher, that student will be removed from the Young Achievers Service Club.
We expect all Young Achievers to exemplify the qualities of a WBO H.E.R.O. and leader at all times. Any behavior concerns that are brought to the sponsors’ attention will be discussed and could result in removal from the club.
Transportation: All students will be responsible for their own transportation to and from different events, unless provided by Troy 30C. Activity buses are available when activities are at WBO or TMS and end before 4:00 P.M.
